As part of Datamars’ commitment to its long-term strategy focusing on data solutions and smart farming, the organisation has announced a number of changes aimed at further strengthening its management and governance capabilities.

Klaus Ackerstaff has decided to step back from his role as Datamars CEO effective 1 January 2021 and to take on the new role of Executive Chairman of the board of Datamars. Ackerstaff remains firmly committed to Datamars and, as well as leading the board, will continue to drive the M&A growth activity and strategy development for the company.

Datamars is pleased to announce that current Datamars Chief Operations Officer (COO), Daniele Della Libera, has been appointed to the position of CEO of Datamars, effective from 1st January 2021.

Daniele not only brings his deep knowledge and commitment to the company he has played such a critical role in shaping over the past 14 years, but also a depth of expertise on Datamars’ markets, operations, and business model; and the proven leadership skills required to propel the company into its next chapter.

“With Daniele as CEO, Datamars will seamlessly continue the long-term strategy and growth path that the board, our shareholders and our management team have established and committed to” says Ackerstaff.

“I wish to personally congratulate Daniele on his appointment and look forward to welcoming and supporting him in his new role, with the full backing of the Datamars board and the management team”

Datamars welcomes Pete Morland to fill the role of COO. Pete will start with the company during November 2020. Pete is an accomplished operations and supply chain executive who has worked within several best-in-class organisations including ABB, General Electric, Alstom and Rolls-Royce.

He will take on the leadership of all Datamars operational functions including the manufacturing sites and will drive for improved productivity and supply performance.

In addition and as part of the broader management evolution, Rajan Singh has been appointed to the new role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and starts with the company in October 2020. Rajan brings with him extensive global commercial experience, including most recently with Honeywell. Rajan will drive Datamars’ business model and channels to market, ensuring the organisation further develops as a solutions business and that all commercial activity is aligned with Datamars’ core focus on the customer.

“We look forward to having Pete and Rajan join our management team. Both, alongside our CFO Kees van der Drift who started with us in January, bring considerable skills and experience from large organisations which will complement the strengths and capabilities of our existing senior leadership group,” says Ackerstaff.

Due to the increased focus on global functional responsibilities to support regional activity, the company has confirmed that Robert Bailey, GM – North America, is leaving the Datamars business effective 6 October 2020.

“Robert has been an integral part of our team for the past five years, has been instrumental in the integration of new businesses, and has grown our North American market significantly during his time with us. We thank Robert for his contribution to Datamars and wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” says Ackerstaff.

With Datamars’ sights set firmly on solidifying its position as a market leader in providing data solutions that deliver customers valuable insights and enable better, informed decisions that achieve measurable success – these changes represent an exciting time for the organisation.

“This is a clear demonstration of Datamars’ commitment to our long term-strategy as a data solutions company, with a specific focus on the livestock sector. We look forward to our customers benefitting from these changes.”
