On September 16, 2025, we hosted our very first In Focus: Live Talks webinar – bringing together colleagues from around the globe to learn about regenerative agriculture and the meaningful work being led by the Datamars Sustainability Foundation (DMSF).
We were pleased to welcome Jessica Villat (CEO of the DMSF) and José Martin Jáuregui (Senior Animal Agricultural Advisor) to share updates on some of the exciting regenerative agriculture projects the Foundation is leading with farmers across Europe.
The session began with an interactive exercise inviting participants to share what “regenerative” means to them – answers included biodiversity, sustainability, resilience, and restoring ecosystems. As Jessica explained: “Regenerative agriculture is not a fixed endpoint. It’s a process – one that allows us to continuously balance ecological health, farmer livelihoods, and food security.”
Jessica outlined the Foundation’s purpose: to catalyse systemic change in agriculture while placing farmers at the heart of the transformation. The principles guiding this work include integrating animals as allies to rebuild soils and biodiversity, empowering the people who steward the land, and grounding every initiative in data and evidence.
José shared highlights of DMSF supported projects underway in Europe, from multispecies pastures that improve soil health and resilience and reduce reliance on nitrogen, to training programmes for agronomists and farmers, and a new podcast series – The Role of Animals in Future Food Systems – which is creating space for dialogue between farmers, researchers, and thought leaders.
On why these projects matter, José said: “What makes these projects special is that they are farmer-led and evidence-driven. By working alongside farmers and producers, we can create practical solutions that deliver benefits for the land, the animals, and the wider food system.”
At Datamars, we believe in farmers and the important role they play in feeding the world. That’s why we’re proud to support the Foundation’s work to create practical, evidence-led solutions for the future of agriculture.
It’s also why we enjoy hosting conversations like this webinar – where our teams around the world can connect with experts, share ideas, and keep learning together.
